JD brought home a note about a film that the English Teacher will be showing in class. It is based on a novel they are reading, will be "cleaned up", and has been approved by all channels. At the time of its release it was rated R, and because of that needed parent permission. Those who don't get permission will be given another assignment to do. Umm...watch movie, easy, or do another assignment on an all ready packed week of homework???? Told my son my opinion and then told him I would sign which ever line he told me to, but it was up to him. This morning he handed me the note and I asked him which line do I sign. I was told to sign the one stating I was NOT giving my permission to watch the movie.
He is on over load right now with homework, Academic Team, Cedar Badge, and a Musical. How much extra work this assignment is going to cause him, I don't know. I do know he has struggled with the novel, and the reason given for showing the movie was to help the students understand the novel. But he prayed about it and he got an answer. Not the easy one, and that is what he is doing.
